SATURDAY 16 th March......back out on the bay.....we went out crabbing...yet again and got 24....we gave a dozen to a couple who we’ve met here as they are off to see their family.....best part is  we don’t have to clean them!

Bay is very calm...experiencing a DODGE tide...well known phenomenon among Adelaides ocean lovers...but reportedly happen in only a few other places in the world! When Matthew Flinders first mapped the coast of SA he noticed the tides missed the usual timing several times a year and coined that the “tide was dodging!” These are tides with little or no height variance.. the phenomena was only reported in the Gulf of Mexico, possibly  a gulf near Nova Scotia and in the Gulf of Carpentaria...
“ In a few places in the world due to symmetry of the oceans and how the tidal waves respond, the effects of the Sun and moon are about equal...the effects cancel each other out so we get no tidal movement whatsoever for a day or two!  It’s a unique phenomenon!

Crabs tend to get tangled in the nets...

 Got ya...colour in the net!!

 Measuring tool!

Pelican followed us in...

 Our mates getting some crabs....

This squid jig wasn’t doing it’s job ....or maybe it was me!

NICE MORNING OUT ON THE BAY!
