MONDAY 25th February...
On the road by 7am...a big day ahead of us....

Onto the Calder Fwy and bypass Bendigo and meander through the Mallee Region...desperate for
rain...passing through Sealake and came across one of the largest salt lakes in Australia...Lake Tyrell...50,500 thousand acres ...Cheetham Salt mine the salt from the lake...it’s basically salt crust except in winter when it is about 5 cm deep with water...a tourist spot and the Mallee Rally is held in the area...

Not my pic but it must be a photographers paradise!

Onto Mildura...stop for fuel ..a bit of lunch then onto Morgan SA...through the fruit fly quarantine...I’ve learnt over the years what I can take across the border!

Arrive at Morgan just before 5 .....we’ve gain half an hour and that brings the mileage to 814 kms and I’m ready for a cold beer! It’s 39 degrees so we are off to the pub for dinner and a nice bottle of Clare Valley Riesling!
